The Science & Justice Research Center is located on the second floor of the Oakes College Academic Building, at the end the hallway to the left of the Mural Room as you come up the stairs, or as you pass the stairs, coming from the elevator at the end of the hallway to the right. Below are directions to and from some common destinations.
In order to align with campus and state directives regarding the COVID-19 response, and to ensure community health and safety, the Science & Justice Research Center will be physically closed until further notice.

Parking at UCSC
Permits are required and must be requested two days in advance. If a permit has been reserved, it will be available for pick up from the parking kiosk just inside the base of campus until 3:30pm. After 4:00, permits can be picked up from the Parking Sales Office (map).
Directions to UCSC from the South Bay Area
From I-680 South. Take I-880 South to Highway 17 South to Santa Cruz. Take Highway 1 North (toward half Moon Bay). On Highway 1 (Mission St.), travel approximately one mile north and turn Right onto Bay St. (becomes Bay Dr.) and proceed up the hill to the main campus entrance. Parking Kiosk is to the right (just past High St.).
Directions to UCSC from San Francisco Airport (SFO)
From Airport Access Rd. Take US-101 South to CA Highway 17 South to Santa Cruz. Take Highway 1 North (toward half Moon Bay). On Highway 1 (Mission St.), travel approximately one mile north and turn Right onto Bay St. (becomes Bay Dr.) and proceed up the hill to the main campus entrance. Parking Kiosk is to the right (just past High St.).
Directions to UCSC from Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC)
From Airport Blvd. Take I-880 South to Highway 17 South to Santa Cruz. Take Highway 1 North (toward half Moon Bay). On Highway 1 (Mission St.), travel approximately one mile north and turn Right onto Bay St. (becomes Bay Dr.) and proceed up the hill to the main campus entrance. Parking Kiosk is to the right (just past High St.). Via Santa Cruz Metro.
Directions to UCSC from the Salinas/Watsonville/Monterey Bay Area
From CA Highway 1 North stay in the middle lane toward Santa Cruz/Half Moon Bay. Stay to the right to continue on Highway 1 North (Mission St.), travel approximately one mile north and turn Right onto Bay St. (becomes Bay Dr.) and proceed up the hill to the main campus entrance. Parking Kiosk is to the right (just past High St.).

The Center is located in the Oakes College Administration Building, approximately H4 on the attached campus map. From Bay St., turn left onto High St. (becomes Empire Grade Rd.), turn right at stop light onto Heller Drive, pass West Entrance Kiosk. Turn right at stop sign onto Oakes Road/Koshland Way. Metered parking is available in Lots 162 and 160. Continue walking on Oakes Road/Koshland Way. The Oakes Administration building will be immediately to the left of the turn about. Science & Justice offices are at the end of the hallway on the 2nd floor to the left of the Mural Room.
To the Sociology Department from the Main Entrance:
The Sociology Department is housed within Rachel Carson College (formerly College Eight), approximately G3 on the campus parking map. Turn left onto High St. (becomes Empire Grade Rd.), turn right at stop light onto Heller Drive, pass West Entrance Kiosk. Turn right at the 3rd stop sign onto Rachel Carson College Rd. Parking is limited in front of Rachel Carson College (lot 146), more parking can be found in Lots 124 and 125 across the street in Porter College off of Heller Drive. Jenny’s office is on the 3rd floor of the Rachel Carson College Academic Building room 321. Colleen's office is on the 2nd floor, room 223.
To Baskin Engineering 2 from Parking Kiosk:
Turn right onto Glenn Coolidge Dr. (was Bay Dr.), turn left onto Hagar Dr, left onto McLaughlin Dr., left onto Heller Dr. immediate left into the Core West Parking Structure. Jack Basking School of Engineering will be across the street on McLaughlin, walk through building, room 180 is on the ground floor accessible from the courtyard, room 599 is on the 5th floor, first room at hallway opening to the right.
